– ‘Ice Cave’

In an effort to create a motivating environment for his employees, Chris Morling – founder of financial comparison website – sought the help of office space designers Interaction and TV personality Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen to transform a Grade II-listed castle into the ultimate high-tech workplace.

As part of the renovation of the headquarters, Cod Steaks were approached by Interaction to create the themed walls for the ‘Ice Cave’ meeting / social space.

Presented with the challenge of retrofitting the cave into the existing room, a plywood substructure was built off-site and designed to be transported and installed as to cause minimal damage to the building. The geometric walls were subsequently finished with unique artwork by one of Bristol’s famous graffiti artists, Silent Hobo, in order to recreate the feeling of surrounding ice.

To complete the chill room, we even fabricated the infamous acorn from the Ice Age franchise. Unlike the films, however, we are confident that this is one installation the acorn will be unable to crack!
