World of Discoveries

Sought out for our strength in concept design and attention to detail, Cod Steaks were commissioned to provide interpretive design, build and installation services for World of Discoveries, Portugal. The site is an impressive interactive museum and theme park which has become a prestigious visitor attraction of national importance in Portugal. The theme park explores the intrepid voyages undertaken by Portugal’s celebrated navigators, through a series of realistic setworks, models, interactives, mannequins (finished in traditional dress) and animatronics.

The park encompasses 20 themed zones which include desert-scapes, jungles, mythical worlds, full scale galleon ships, shipyards, rockwork, and traditional structures from around the world.

Based on the strength of this delivery, our client increased our scope of works to include design and construction of the 150 seat restaurant, eclectically themed to reflect the essence of “World Flavours”.

Since its launch, World of Discoveries has received extensive media coverage and incredibly positive feedback. It has been recognised as a world class attraction, earning Cod Steaks an international award along the way.
