Cod Steaks brings a wide range of creative and technical disciplines together under one roof.
Instead of passing a project between multiple unrelated suppliers, our clients can access design, project management, engineering, joinery, metalwork, prop making, model making, sculpture, scenic art, CNC machining, laser cutting and specialist finishing through one coordinated team.
This joined-up approach helps us protect the original creative vision while resolving the practical challenges involved in building it.

Most projects begin with an enquiry and an initial discussion about the creative brief, intended use, location, dimensions, programme and available budget.
Where possible, it helps to provide:
A written brief or description
Reference images or mood boards
Drawings, plans or 3D files
Required dimensions
Site information
Desired materials and finishes
Budget expectations
Delivery or installation location
Target completion date
If some of this information is not yet available, our team can help identify what is needed next.
-
For the quickest and most useful response, please include:
What you would like us to create
The intended use of the finished piece
Approximate dimensions and quantities
Your target budget or budget range
Required completion date
Delivery or installation location
Drawings, references or visual material
Any important technical, access or site constraints
Do not worry if the project is still at an early stage. Send us what you have and we can help establish the next steps.

Absolutely. Clients do not need to arrive with a fully resolved design.
We can begin with a sketch, reference image, creative treatment, architectural drawing, written brief or conversation. Our design team can then explore the concept, identify practical considerations and develop the information required for manufacture.

These allow the creative and production teams to test scale, appearance, materials, construction methods and finishes before moving into full manufacture.
-
Every Cod Steaks project is different, so costs depend on factors such as size, complexity, materials, finish, quantity, design development, engineering, transport, installation and programme.
A clear brief and realistic budget help us recommend the most appropriate production approach. If a fixed budget is available, we can discuss how to achieve the strongest result within it.
-
Timescales vary considerably. A small prop may require a relatively short production period, while a large themed environment or multi-element installation may take several months.
The programme can include design development, client approvals, technical coordination, sampling, procurement, manufacture, finishing, pre-assembly, transport and installation. Contacting us early gives the project team more opportunity to plan effectively.
-
We understand that film, television, events, exhibitions and commercial openings often operate to fixed deadlines.
Whether a fast programme is achievable will depend on the scale and complexity of the work, the availability of materials, the speed of approvals and our current workshop capacity. Send us your deadline and project information, and we will assess what is realistically possible.
-
Yes. We can plan and undertake installation as part of the wider project scope.
Our project managers will coordinate relevant site information, logistics, access, sequencing and installation requirements with the client and other contractors. For international projects, we can discuss the most suitable balance between workshop manufacture, shipping and on-site work.

Yes. We have experience delivering creative projects outside the UK and can plan for international transport, packaging, shipping and installation.
